Caterpillar Boogie...

Today we performed 'Caterpillar Boogie' to our parents. It was a mini musical all about the lifecycle of a caterpillar. We worked really hard to learn our lines and to speak with lots of expression, our teachers' are very proud of us.

Fun with phonics! Reading under a parachute.

This week we have been sharing the fun activites and games that we play in our daily phonic lessons with Miss Geoghegan. Miss Geoghegan had heard that we have lots of fun when we learn new digraphs and joined us under the parachute to experience the laughter and learning for herself.
We each wore a sticker with a digraph on it. Some of use wore phase three digraphs and some of us wore the alternative phase five digraph, such as ee or ey....ai or ay...igh or ie. Miss Sullivan called out a sound. If we had that digraph on our sticker we ran under the parachute to the other side. We had to be carfeul not to bump into each other! Miss Sullivan joined in too.

Miss Geoghegan joined us under our ''parachute mushroom''. We lifted it up as high as we could and then quickly pulled it under us and sat down. We rolled the tricky word ball to each other and read out the word it landed on. We could even put our tricky words into an interesting sentence.
